About Me

I was born in 1970 in Illinois. My brother, Daniel, was born in 1974.  Right before my 10th birthday, my parents decided to move to Idaho to get away from the poor economy and to start “a new”.  So off we went.

I started school in 5th grade at Franklin Elementary.  We lived near Franklin till I was 12, and moved to the Fairmont Junior High School area. I loved Fairmont JH. I was involved in music from that point forward. My true mentor was Linda Schmidt. She was our choir instructor and and was probably one of the most influential people in my life growing up.  I continued on to graduate from Capital High School in 1988.

I joined the Air Force in Sept 1988. When I was done with basic training, I was sent to Illinois for fire fighter training. I was then sent to my permanent duty assignment, Minot AFB, ND. I was at Minot till 1991 where I then moved to Wisconsin. I worked as an emergency medical technician for several years and started nursing school during this time. I then worked as a certified nursing assistant and then a nurse Intern.

During the time from 1991 to 1998, I was in and out of school trying to “find myself”. I eventually did, and graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical School with my Associates Degree in Nursing.  I worked at Aurora Health Care from 1999 till 2006.

In December 2006, I moved to Texas. I worked in an emergency room until December of 2007 when I was hired into an nurse analyst position at another facility in our partnership.  I now teach nursing informatics to end users, maintain nursing applications and implement new software.

I am enjoying my career, and my life very much :)

More to come…..
